Extension Gunners' coach, Daniel 'Chicco' Nare has warned his charges not to be complacent in their remaining Mascom Premier League games. The coach was speaking after Gunners trounced Francistown TASC 6-0 at the UB Stadium on Saturday night.

Gunners' goals were scored by Ofentse Mmipi (brace), Johannes Motse (brace), Abednico Powell and Tiroyadimo 'TRX' Mohambi. After the victory, Gunners' supporters have confidence that their side has turned the corner and can avoid relegation one again. The survival specialists are lying 14th in the 16-club league with 27 points from 23 games.

The two bottom clubs relegate automatically to the First Division while the third gets a lifeline through the promotional play-offs. Since the arrival of Nare, Gunners have been playing beautiful football but have been unlucky in front of goal.

The coach told Mmegi Sport yesterday that contrary to popular belief, the 6-0 win does not mean his side is out of the woods. "I cannot say we have turned the corner. It is only that on the night, we played well and converted the chances we created. In games we have played, we have been creating chances but we did not convert them. I am happy that against TASC we were clinical."

He warned his players not to let the big win go to their heads ahead of the tricky fixture against Uniao Flamengo Santos at the weekend. He said it is important that they keep on winning to avoid the axe. "If we can at least win three games on the trot, that would be great," he said. Mapantsula are left with seven games against Santos, Nico United, Township Rollers, Boteti Young Fighters, Jwaneng Comets, BDF XI and ECCO City Greens.

Though he has confidence that Gunners will avoid the chop, Nare is worried about the red cards his side has been getting in recent times. He pointed out that he has talked to the players and came up with a solution. "I have decided that any player who is going to get an unnecessary red card will have his salary cut. This would help in ensuring that my players remain disciplined in the remaining games," he said. In recent times, Gunners have had three players Ofentse Mmipi, Kemmy Pilato and Nkosinathi Khumalo sent off. Khumalo returns this weekend and Nare will be faced with a mammoth task of deciding whether to start with him ahead of Motse. The Gunners' tactician pleaded with the supporters to continue rallying behind the team and not to put pressure on the players, despite the big win. "They (supporters) have been important in our campaign this season," he said.
