Namibian authorities intend to increase economic and commercial relations with Angola, expressed this Wednesday here to the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, the minister of Trade and Industry of Nambia, Hage Geingob.
The Namibian official gave the information to the press at the end of an audience granted to him by the President of Angola, José Eduardo dos Santos.
"These are relations that date back to the period of liberation struggle that led to Namibia's independence", reminded the official, who is also the vice president of the South West Africa People's Organisation (SWAPO), Namibian ruling party.
The official also expressed his country's gratitude for the help granted by Angola in their national liberation struggle, and regretted, on the other hand, the fact that economic ties between both countries have not reached the desired levels.
Hage Geingob said that he availed the opportunity to hand over a message from the President of Namibia, Lucas Pohamba, whose context was not revealed, to the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos.
