Luanda — The governor of Luanda province, Francisca do Espírito Santo Wednesday here said, after being sworn in, that she counts on the collaboration of everyone for the improvement of the social conditions of residents of the capital.
Francisca do Espírito Santo said it is necessary to deal with matters concerning water, sanitation, rehabilitation of roads, among others.
She also considered as priorities the planning and implementation of actions linked to the education and health of the population, mainly of children and women.
The governor of Luanda was speaking to journalists after being sworn in by the Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos.
The official added that Luanda, due to its dimension and characteristics, has big challenges and, as a result of this, its problems cannot be solved immediately.
Born in south-west Namibe province, Francisca do Espírito Santo held, since 2003, posts of vice governor of Luanda for the social sphere.
She also held the post of deputy minister of Education and was also the director of the National Scholarships Institute (INABE).
