The Eritrean Ambassador to Egypt, Mr. Fassil Gebreslasie, and the Egyptian Minister of Information, Mr. Anes Al-Feqi, stated that bilateral cooperation in the field of mass media would contribute to the development of all-round relations between Eritrea and Egypt. The two officials made the remarks during a meeting they held on March 15 in Cairo.

Both sides reached understanding to enhance media ties between the two countries in a manner that would serve the mutual benefit of Eritrea and Egypt. In addition, they discussed the prevailing situation in the Horn of Africa in general and Somalia in particular.

In another report, the NUEYS branch and the Eritrean Community in Egypt participated in the "Peoples' Friendship Festival" organized by Ein-Ashems University that was held in Cairo from March 31 to April 14. Eritrea stood first and was awarded prize for staging shows at the Festival in which 15 countries took part.
