Hamelmalo — In line with efforts to expand its educational courses, the Hamelmalo Agriculture College is planning to introduce post-graduate program, according to Mr. Semere Amlesom, Dean of the college.
He indicated that the college is striving to reinforce the ongoing efforts to achieve food security through applying advanced agricultural technology and know-how. Noting that the college is currently offering degree and diploma courses in 8 fields, Mr. Semere indicated with the introduction of the M.A program, the courses would be expanded to 12 fields. To this end, the necessary preparations and studies have been finalized, he added.
The dean further pointed out that the Hamelmalo Agriculture College is enriching its experience through fostering close relations with different colleges and universities around the world, including those in Australia, India and Norway. Mr. Semere went on to say that the students and instructors of the college are carrying out different types of research in coordination with local farmers and that fruitful outcome has been attained in this respect.
The Hamelmalo Agriculture College was established three years ago and it would graduate students in diploma this year and degree next year.
