The much talked-about gospel and circular musical extravaganza organized by the Crusaders for Peace yesterday brought together thousands of Liberians from all walks of life at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.
The show proved more than just a musical program, as it spread the messages on Gender Based Violence (GBV), the prevention of HIV/AIDS and an end to Small Arms proliferation in Liberia.
Many local Artists who graced the occasion through songs and drama spread the messages against Small Arms, HIV/AIDS and GBV using their popular songs.
In spite of the threatening weather condition, which signaled rainfall, the crowd was not deterred from witnessing the spectacular occasion. They sang along and clapped their hands to the beat, as they spread the most important message on GBV, HIV/AIDS and the move to curtail small arms in the Liberian Society.
At first, the gospel musicians displayed their talents giving praises to the Most High, something which some members of the audience believed may have been the reason to stop the rains from pouring on the thousands of individuals that were restlessly waiting for Liberia's own national hip-hop artists.
Just before the stage was to be 'stormed' by the secular acts that had a long way to go to compete with the gospel explosion that rocked the ATS yesterday, time was given to honor one of Liberia's pioneers who fought for peace and stability in Liberia, Madam Mary Brownell.
Madam Brownell who is the former president for the Liberian Women Initiatives (LW I), a former Commissioner of the National Elections Commission (NEC) was in the vanguard of helping women attain education and fight for peace during the years of the civil war.

The show had a collection of sponsors who wanted the Liberian people to enjoy an afternoon by spreading the message against GBV, HIV/AIDS and the Proliferation of Small Arms in the country through music.
Sponsors included the National Aids Control Program (NACP), The Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism, Lone Star Cell among others.
