WORLD Indoor 60 metres and African fastest man, Olusoji Fasuba has said that he is not leaving anything to chance in his quest to make an impressive performance at the forthcoming Beijing 2008 Olympics.

The soft spoken athlete said he has been training hard for the event and hope to use the African Championship in Addis Ababa , Ethiopia later this month to finalise his preparation for the bigger games in Beijing.

"Right now, I know that I am going to face stiff opposition at the Olympics, but the only thing I can do is believe in myself. When I was going to Valencia for the World Indoors Championship, not many people believed in me.

I went to Valencia with the belief that I would win and I won. So I have been training so hard for the Olympics. I can't rest, bearing the difficult task ahead. My training has been very tough, it's not easy and I will be going to Europe any time from now to finalise my preparation for the African Championship in Ethiopia.

I intend to use the African Championship as a pre-training. I might not be at my best, but by God's grace, I will try and win the African Championship for the third time. I have been training at Owerri and partially at Abuja.

"At the Olympic Games proper, I am going to give my 200% best. It means I am going to work very hard to give it all that I have," he said.
