Big Brother Africa fans are in for another treat as the popular reality television show hits the screen in August this year.

Yesterday, Multichoice Namibia announced that it has started inviting entries for season three of the blockbuster.

Namibians aged 21 and above are invited to participate in this prestigious African show that has made previous housemates instant stars continentally.

The deadline for entries is April 30, Multichoice announced.

Other requirements are a valid passport, fluency in English, fun loving, vocal, creative, original and articulate.

"Remember that all entrants must be tolerant of the views and lifestyle choices other than their own views and must have the social flexibility to live in close proximity with others," Multichoice said.

The 12 housemates will live together under one roof in Johannesburg and after weeks of public voting and evictions, only one will walk out with US$100000.

Multichoice said entry forms for Big Brother Africa III can be collected from their offices and can also be obtained from www.mnetafrica.com.

The selected housemates from 12 participating countries will have no contact with the outside world and will be under camera eye at all times.

Participating countries are Angola, Botswana, Ghana, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Big Brother Africa III is scheduled to launch on August 24 and will be screened on DStv Channel 198.

Famous Channel O presenter, VJ Kabelo Ngakane, will keep the viewers glued to their sets for 30 minutes from Tuesday to Friday plus a late night "uncut" show.

Since some scenes might contain nudity and vulgar language, all programming including the 24-hour channel will have restricted access through the parental guide functionality on the DStv decoder.

Weekly highlights will also be shown for one hour including nominations and eviction shows.

Big Brother Africa lovers will also be able to see the continent's most creative musicians and performers. This platform creates an opportunity for African artists to showcase their talent through the widely viewed eviction shows.

As with the previous show, Big Brother Africa III will have special guests including some celebrities visiting the house throughout to promote relevant social awareness programmes.

"Big Brother Africa III promises more great entertainment for African fans," Multichoice assured.

"With the highlights, drama and excitement of season two still fresh in the minds of DStv audiences across the continent, and driven by its phenomenal success, M-Net has moved quickly to begin work on Big Brother Africa III," Multichoice said.

According to M-Net Director of Operations in Sub-Saharan Africa, Joseph Hundah, when Big Brother Africa II was showing, audiences showed their involvement by voting, texting and downloading video clips.

The popularity of the show was evidenced in about 900000 SMS messages that were received with 14 million page impressions registered on the show website and four million video clips viewed online.
