Monrovia — A non-profit organization based in the United States "Hope Alive" Wednesday donated several medical supplies and educational materials to the C.H. Rennie Hospital and Birch McNutt Christian Academy (B-MCA) in Kakata City, Margibi County.
The items were given to Hope Alive by International Medical Equipment Collaborative (IMEC).
Presenting the items on behalf of Hope Alive to authorities of the hospital and school, Mr. Augustus B.M. Kerkula said, Mr. Prince Wreh, who is the founder of the organization decided to identify with the two institutions as his own way of contributing towards the welfare of the people of Kakata.
He said Mr. Wreh founded the organization in the United States to solicit assistance from goodwill people in that country to help his people back home.
According to him, Mr. Wreh thought it expedient to identify with the hospital and school as his initial way of giving back to the city where he grew up.
Mr. Kerkula called on authorities of the two institutions to use the materials for the intended purpose and assured them of Mr. Wreh's support in the future.
Receiving the medical supplies on behalf of the hospital, the County Health Officer (CHO) of Margibi, Dr. Hawa Moore Kromah lauded Mr. Wreh for identifying with the hospital.
She said the donation could not have come at a better time than now as the hospital was in need of assistance to provide quality health services to the people of Margibi County.
Dr. Kromah assured that the medical supplies would be used wisely and called on other citizens from the county who are residing in the United States to emulate the good example of their kinsman.
For her part, the principal of B-MCA commended Hope Alive for the donation and promised to use the items for the intended purpose.
Donation include, drips, maternity piles, feeding pumps, laboratory materials, assorted medical supplies, textbooks, copybooks, among others.
