The time many local fans have been waiting for is here as the screening of the M-Net Idols Botswana auditions takes place this Sunday on M-Net Channel 102 at 17:00 (CAT-E) and (19:00 CAT-W).

The Botswana auditions will be screened simultaneously with the Malawi auditions. Those who miss out on the initial screening can switch to Channel 198, which has been dedicated to Idols, which will broadcast throughout April showing all the Idols auditions footage from all seven-audition cities. Having selected a total of 13 contestants from Zimbabwe, to add on to those selected at other audition cities, Batswana will this Sunday find out how many representatives they will have in the Idols' next stage.

"Once the audition tour is over and the with-it have been separated from the wannabes it's back to Nairobi, Kenya, for the theatre stage. This is where the Idols contestants come ever closes to singing their way to a sought after spot in the Top 10. From this point onwards it's all about spectaculars and being able to present the whole Idols package; where the Top 10 put it all out there to win enough of your votes and ultimately the irreplaceable opportunity to record with SonyBMG as well as a cash prize of US$80 000," explains a statement on the Idols' website.
