Professor Clement Nforti Ngwasiri, retired Lecturer of Law and Management Science at the University of Yaounde I, and one of the founding fathers of the Social Democratic Front, SDF, died Friday, April 11, after a protracted illness.
Professor Ngwasiri, who had been sick for two years, had earlier been declared dead by local radio stations.
Prof. Ngwasiri, who was the Chairman of the National Advisory Council, NAC, and Member of Parliament of the party later resigned. He had party differences with the SDF National Chairman, John Fru Ndi, over the party leadership, in 2005, and was ousted from the party together with some cohorts.
He was in court in November 2006, with the National Chairman, after he created another faction of the SDF, with Barrister Bernard Achuo Muna at the head.
