Faming potentials, opportunities and challenges of the farming populations of the seven southern provinces of Cameroon will be topical as the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Jean NKuete launches the farming Season in Bamenda today.
The Vice Prime Minister arrived in Bamenda yesterday for an official and working visit during which he is expected to formally set the tone for the planting season.
Nutoto Godfrey Awah, Provincial Delegate of MINADER says the Vice Prime Minister will also mobilize and sensitize the farming population on the nation's agricultural policy, orientations and state government's expectations during the farming season. Also prominent during the Minister' stay in the province will be an exchange of agro- technology between farmers, presentation of technical innovations and new inputs to farmers and above all, the Vice Prime Minister will have enough to offer in support to farmers in their efforts towards greater yields and better quality.
The programme also features an outing on the field with the Vice Prime Minister expected to visit a potato farm in the of Njah village and the P.S.S plantation farm in Bafut.
