THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) had received about 900 reports of alleged corruption by the end of March and planned to conduct more forensic investigations this year, Deputy Prime Minister Libertina Amathila told Parliament this week.

The ACC was formally established in March 2006 and will receive N$59,8 million over the next three years until March 2011. According to Amathila, who introduced the ACC's budgetary vote of N$14,1 million for the next 12 months, the organisation would require the construction of a new building to cater for its special needs.

Budgetary details for the ACC were missing from Amathila's speech. Instead, she listed all the workshops ACC officials had attended in the past year and all the public relations exercises it conducted.

There was no debate on that vote on Wednesday night and the vote was adopted.
