The chief of Staff of Angolan Navy Force (MGA), admiral Augusto da Silva Cunha "Gúgú", highlighted this Friday, in Luanda, the importance of the four patrol barges of this sector, considering them as key elements in the sectors linked to the sea.

The official who was speaking during the handover ceremony of the referred patrol and supervising boats for national waters, said that with such achievement all marine authorities will gain from it "Our activity will be limited to the collaboration with authorities linked to fisheries, oil, mercantile marine, port authorities and National Police", he referred.

The MGA official explained that threats, through the sea, might be of various characters, whether from the military point of view, or economic and environmental, without forgetting the inherent responsibilities regarding the protection of human lives in the sea, in case of natural disasters or accidents.

The Spanish manufactured boats that were not working for many years were totally refitted by a North Korean company (GPA).

The hand over ceremony was witnessed by the Defence Minister, Kundi Paihama, the assistant chief of General Staff of Angolan Armed Forces (FAA), General Geraldo Sachipengo Nunda, and other top officials of the National Army.
