Angola: Justice Minister Praises Juridical Organs

Angolan Justice Minister, Manuel Aragão, showed satisfaction this Friday over the non-existence of cases of excess of preventive custody in eastern Moxico province.

The government official said so during visits carried out to the prisons of the Provincial Department of Criminal Investigation, part of his two-day working agenda to this province.

The official praised the engagement of the juridical organs involved in the handling of procedural issues.

Manuel Aragao said that he had noticed an interest from the central and local governments in the improvement of the working conditions of the employees of the justice sector in this region, regarding to the building of the Provincial Court and Attorney's Office, as well as the rehabilitation of Prison Services.

The Angolan Justice minister expressed words of hope and tranquillity to the nearly 166 prisoners at the local jail, with a capacity to host 400 people.

He also visited the Justice and Provincial Attorney Managements and met with judges and employees of the Prosecuting Council in Moxico.

This is the first visit that Manuel Aragão carries out to Moxico province as Justice Minister. He is due to return to Luanda city on Saturday.
