"The CPDM, SDF and CDU MPs have pushed the National Assembly to act illegally, in presenting bills for the amendment of the constitution at the Constitutional Law Commission in violation of article 18(3) and article 26 of the Constitution, which provided the agenda and roles of the National Assembly without any provision for the amendment of the constitution.
Hence, parliament should not have legislated on a bill that is not within its jurisdiction as of Article 26 of the Constitution."The President of the Republic should, therefore, ask for a second reading of this illegal bill and reject accordingly or refuse to promulgate such an illegal bill thereof.
The Supreme Court/Constitutional Council should declare illegal the act of amending the constitution of 1996 in parliament as null and void. The Cameroon Constitutional Law experts should join Dr. Tabi Owona in filing a motion at the Supreme Court/Constitutional Council, declaring the parliamentary act of amending the constitution illegal.
Cameroonians of all walks of life should sanction the SDF for joining hands with the CPDM in presenting and adopting an illegal bill at the Constitutional Law Commission after deceiving Cameroonians that the SDF is against any constitutional amendment, just to turn round and present a constitutional amendment proposal at the National Assembly.
The SDF went further to accept CPDM draft proposals by stating that: "We agree with the Government that the 1996 Constitution was designed and adopted in quite particular post crises context and the need to amend it."
The SDF and its leaders are confused people with no clear vision or stand for Cameroonians.
The press should help Cameroonians and fight against this illegal act by parliament.
