Angola: Journalists Conclude Training On Electoral Coverage

Journalists from various State-run media organs, in south Cunene province, concluded on Friday, in Ondjiva city, an upgrading course on electoral coverage.

The two-day workshop was promoted by Ministry of Social Communication (media) through the Journalists Training Centre (CEFOJOR), with the aim of upgrading and updating journalists for a better coverage of the forthcoming legislative elections, scheduled for next September.

Participants to the course discussed topics regarding the strategy of covering the elections, legislative package of the electoral process, human resource management, press law and the journalistic language.

At the occasion, Cunene's deputy governor for the economic and social spheres, Jerónimo Halenge referred that the legislative elections are about to happen in the country and for that journalists are called to broaden the access to information on the elections, by maintaining the spirit of unity and democracy of citizens.

The government official urged journalists to broadcast with objectivity and impartiality during the elections, yet all the information should reflect the true facts for the wellbeing of the society.
