Angolan national police officers were Friday informed on the importance of preserving and protecting monuments and sites during a talk promoted by the culture department of south Cunene province.

The activity, which was presided over by the local director of Culture, Celestino Vicente, happened in light of the International Day for Monuments and Sites, marked on April 18.

During his speech, the official stressed that the event aimed at calling the attention of the society on the reflection, importance and value of preserving historical monuments and sites.

On his turn, the spokesperson of the provincial command of the national police in Cunene, Superintendent Guido Rafael considered the talk satisfactory: "I have learnt about the importance, value and the number of historical monuments and sites existing in Cunene".
