THE Uganda Hippos believe that they have the world at their feet.

Today against DR Congo, the U-20 side gets the opportunity to make the nation proud in their Africa Youth Championship qualifier first leg in Kinshasa.

The Hippos will try to emulate Uganda's Confederations Cup representatives Express FC, who picked a decent goal-less result in their visit at the 80,000 capacity Martyrs Stadium last month.

However, their task at hand has not been helped by the hosts' foul tricks. On arrival in Kinshasa, the Hippos had their passports impounded after failing to present properly documented health cards.

The stadium allocated to the team for training was also in a poor state.

"We have been told to pay US$1,250 (sh2m) for our health cards that weren't clearly written if we are to have our passports back. They are doing everything to try and unsettle us," Hippos' team manager Mohammed Faisal lamented.
