BDF XI will once again come up against their former top marksman Mpho 'Jomo' Mabogo tomorrow night when they take on champions Mochudi Centre Chiefs in a Mascom Premier League game at the UB Stadium.

The burly striker has been in fine form since he joined Magosi at the start of the season. He has scored 12 goals to help Chiefs win their first league title. The first round meeting between BDF XI and Chiefs at the SSKB Stadium in Mogoditshane ended in a goalless draw with Mabogo bottled up by his former teammates.

This weekend, he knows that facing his former employers would not be an easy task. But he is confident that Chiefs' unbeaten record will remain intact after the game. Chiefs have gone 26 games and accumulated 64 points without a loss this season.

"I know that BDF XI are picking up the pieces and they are going to give us a tough time. BDF XI would not want to lose to us and they would rather hold us to a draw," he said. Mabogo pointed out that he is aware that his former teammates will frustrate him, but he will try his best on the night to lead Magosi to victory. "People think that since we have won the league, we will relax. We want to finish the league without a loss and we will go for broke," said Mabogo.

BDF XI coach Stanley Tshosane told Mmegi Sport that his charges are ready to take the champions head on. Matebele come into the game motivated after a 3-1 win over Nico United in Selebi-Phikwe. "Without putting my players under pressure, it would be nice if we can break Chiefs' record. Having seen the confidence of the boys in training, I think we can achieve that," said Tshosane. This season BDF XI have not performed to expectations though the club has one of the best defences in the league second only to Chiefs. The Matebele defence has conceded 18 goals in 25 games while Chiefs have let in 17 in 25 outings. This is why Tshosane is confident that they can frustrate marauding Magosi strikers Jerome Ramatlhakwana, Mabogo and Pontsho Moloi. The arrival of Ernest Amos from TASC has brought stability in the BDF XI defence.

His partnership with Mompati Thuma and captain Donald Thobega has seen most teams struggling to score against the army side. Upfront, BDF XI will call on Mokgathi Mokgathi, Olivier Kayombo and Edwin Kamwimba who were on the scoring sheet against Majombolo.
