Luanda — The executive vice president for international exploration and production of StatoilHydro, Peter Mellbye will pay from April 23 to 24, a work visit to Angola to meet with partners of the Norwegian firm and with Angolan authorities of the sector.
According to StatoilHydro's assistant director general to Angola, Lukoki Sebastião, who announced the fact to ANGOP this Monday, Peter Mellbye's agenda includes contacts with the Oil Ministry, Sonangol EP and its subsidiary for research and production (Sonangol P&P).
Mr Sebastião added that during his stay in the country the executive vice president of the StatoilHydro group will meet with employees of the company to explain the goals, plans and ambitions of the new company in Angola.
StatoilHydro is a Norwegian energy company, formed by the 2007 merger of Statoil with the oil and gas division of Norsk Hydro. StatoilHydro is the biggest offshore oil and gas company in the world and the largest company by revenue in the Nordic Region.
In Angola the company has 43 workers, from which 23 are nationals, it has a daily production quota of 1.7 million barrels, within the 40 countries it operates, and its contribution to the Angolan production is of 200,000 barrels per day.
