Luanda — The opening of new routes to various African countries will increase the incomes of the Angolan Airlines (TAAG), since the number of passengers is rising, informed on Saturday, in Doualá (Cameroon), its administrator for the technical area, Constatino Dialunda.
The official, who was speaking to the press in the light of the inaugural flight to Doualá city, advanced that in spite of being profitable, the option for these routes is due to the fact that TAAG was banned from flying to Europe for at least one year.
TAAG's airplane that made that flight on Saturday left Luanda around 7:30am local time and arrived in Doualá at 03:00pm, Angolan time, and only returned on Sunday at 04:00am.
However, the official informed that the referred programme of opening new routes will continue to be implemented, since TAAG is being more requested to fly in the African continent.
Mr Dialunda advanced that TAAG does not intend to have control of the region, but only explore new markets, to make the company more profitable. For the referred route, TAAG will fly twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays, respectively.
