Yesterday's early morning Kenya Airways flight from Entebbe International Airport was delayed for seven hours. Unconfirmed reports indicated that the KQ417 flight overshot the runway.

The 160-seater Boeing 737 which was supposed to take off at 5:30am flew out at 12:50pm.

Civil Aviation Authority officials said the flight was delayed because of the foul morning weather.

However, Kenya Airways officials said the flight was cancelled because of a technical problem which was later rectified. They refused to give more details.
