Windhoek — Both title-chasing Hotspurs and Monitronic College failed to take advantage of each other's misfortunes.
The pair suffered shock defeats at the hands of Desert Rollers in last weekend's Southern Stream Division One League action at the Khomasdal Stadium in Windhoek.
The lowly placed Gobabis outfit defeated log leaders Hotspurs by 3 goals to 1 on Saturday, before seeing off the students 2-1 the next day to complete a miserable weekend for the ambitious Windhoek-based teams.
In other action, Namib Woestyn hammered five goals past a hapless Flying Eagles (5-1) at the Mariental Showgrounds Stadium on Saturday, and returned to what seemed to be their happy hunting ground to despatch Black Marocco Chiefs (BMC) by an identical score line on Sunday.
Monitronic College thrashed Nampol by five goals without a reply and Spurs rubbed more salt in the wounds of the law enforcers after the Donkerhoek-based outfit stopped the cops right in their tracks with a 5-1 beating on Sunday.
Elsewhere, Young Beauties recorded a morale boosting 2 -1 win over Black Marocco Chiefs (BMC) in Mariental on Saturday and went on to complete a double over their hosts when the boys from the Karas Region ran riot against a clearly out of sorts Flying Eagles outfit on Sunday.
The Keetmanshoopers grounded the low-flying Eagles and brought the basement side hard down to mother gravity (8-2).
