Experts drawn form African nations, including Nigeria's Joseph Makoju, special adviser to President Umaru Yar'Adua on electric power, PHCN will meet next month in Cape town, South Africa to investigate how African countries can attract and fast track financing for power projects.

The two-day conference tagged Power Indaba 2008 is an annual conference and a forum for Ministerial delegations, high-level power executives, policy makers and international financiers to tackle investment head-on and thus encourage the development of the African power sector.

Comprehensive presentations, panel discussions and round-table meetings will investigate how African countries can attract and fast-track financing for power projects, while highlighting real business opportunities and the implementation of systems for improved applications.

According to Esi Africa, the event is the first of its kind in Africa to focus specifically on investment in the African power industry, and is the continent's best resource for up-to-date information on financing and new business.

The two-day executive conference will enable ministers, senior utility representatives, potential investors and consultants to discuss the following: Maximising financial advantage, Regulatory issues, Financial intelligence, Money talks, privatisation, tariffs and ROE, Current issues,Africa's international power investment portfolio, Financial models and legal frameworks and Bridging the gap between Africa and the First World in the sector.

Expected at the conference are the Energy Ministers of DRC, Solomon Banamulere, Mozambique's Salvador Nambareke and South Africa's Buyelwa Sonjica.
