Francistown — Young women have been advised to emulate their male counterparts and venture into business. Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) official, Neo Mahube said this during the 'Becoming a Diva' event held on Sunday. The event attracted women from all walks of life.
Mahube said as much as women want to be treated equally, they should also realise that they have to be financially free. She said LEA desires to see more women enter their doors to start business. The motivational speaker at the event, Ya Rona FM presenter, Ms Tumie Ramsden also encouraged women not to hold back their dreams because of fear.
"Follow your dreams, do not allow fear to stop you from doing what you want to do or what you are fond of," she said. She also encouraged the attendants to be involved in community work as that gives one fulfillment. The objective of the event was to empower young women through advocacy training. The event is also hosted to cultivate a network of young women leaders to provide on-going peer support and mentoring.
