Liberia: Comium Launches Services in Grand Gedeh

Monrovia — It was a colorful event in Zwedrew city, Grand Gedeh County on April 12, when Comium Liberia officially launched its services in the city.

The launching coincided with the hosting of the Miss Zwedrew, which was sponsored by Comium Liberia.

The program, which was colorful brought together town chiefs, youths, and elderly as well, the county official and it was characterize with culture performances.

In her welcome remarks, the county city mayoress, Miss. Ophelia Gallery called on Comium to venture in community initiatives as a way of empowering the young people of Garnd Gedeh.

For his part the superintendent of Grand Gedeh County Chris Bailey lauded Comium for coming to Grand Gedeh. He described the launching of Comium to Grand Gedeh as a significant boast to the development of Grand Gedeh on grounds that people would have access to communication. "This is the time where people need not to go Monrovia to talk to their relatives abroad."

He added that the people of Grand Gedeh were happy to see Comium in Grand Gedeh. "We are proud of Comium to be here and we see the coming of Comium as the coming of light in the darkness for the Liberian people."

He than admonished Comium to continue to be the friend of the poor and the less fortunate because according him Comium is not only a making money company but a humanitarian company as well. He said as long as Comium is in grand Gedeh they will be protected by the people of Grande Gedeh

Superintendent Bailey called on Comium to be more pro active in community development programs as a way of building the capacity of the young people and the less fortunate in Grand Gedeh and Liberia at large.

As a way of helping the youth, Comium sponsored the first ever Miss. Zwedrew beauty pageant. Comium Marketing manager Mr. Ben Tsoporlor said Comium was committed to helping the youth of Grand Gedeh.

"This is one of the reasons which we did not hesitate when we were contacted by the organizers of the Miss Zwedrew beauty pageant," Mr. Ben Tsorporlor Marketing Manager said.

The pageant was organized by the Grand Gedeh modern Artist promotion (GEMAP). The program brought together eight charming ladies from every sector of Grand Gedeh County for the prestigious crown. Miss Tanneh Kofa emerged as winner.
