The US Embassy to Angola and the Population Service International (PSI) will launch a new water treatment service in Luanda's Cacuaco district on Wednesday, Angop learned Tuesday.

According to a US diplomatic mission release that reached Angop, the product named "Certeza" or "Certainty" was developed by the Non-Governmental organisation (PSI) that will put this new water treatment product at the disposal of Luanda in coming weeks.

This action counts on technical support from the Angola Health Ministry (MINSA), the US Control Disease Centre (CDC), and financial aid from Esso-Angola, from the local oil company (Sonangol), the Block 15 workers group (BP, ENI and the Stat oil-Hydro), Unicef, and the United State's Agency for International Development (USAID).

"Certainty" comes as a complement to other methods recommended by the Angolan Government in the domestic treatment of water that includes the use of bleach and boiled water.
