Uganda: Soldier Dismissed Over Smoking Opium

Kampala — THE 5th Division has sentenced a soldier to three years imprisonment and dismissed him from the army with disgrace for possessing and smoking drugs.

In a statement, the division public relations officer, Capt. Deo Akiiki, said Private Jackson Ndyanabo pleaded guilty to the offence before the unit disciplinary committee chaired by Maj. David Makanga at the division headquarters in Achol-Pii, Pader district.
