A delegation from Euroil- Cameroon yesterday, 22 April during a courtesy visit told Cameroon's Prime Minister, Ephraim Inoni that during the past one year they drilled three wells at the Itinde Offshore in the Littoral Province and discovered much gas and millions of barrels of crude oil.
The Non-Executive Chairman of BowLeven oil and gas, Ronnie Hanna, a parent company to Euroil, Cameroon, headed the delegation to the Star Building. Prominent in the delegation was also Chief Tabetando, President Director General of Euroil -Cameroon.
After the audience held behind closed doors, Ronnie Hanna told the press that they used the courtesy visit to update the Prime Minister on their activities on crude oil and gas exploration in the 18 Department of the Itinde Offshore exploration area for the past year and the short and long term plans for developing oil and gas in Cameroon. He said, "We drilled three wells in our 18 Department and the wells have been very encouraging". Chief Tabetando corroborated the declaration when he told journalists that "in the three wells we discovered enormous gas and crude".
For the short term exploration and exploitation plan, Mr Ronnie Hanna said, by the middle of May this year, in the blocks of 18 Department, they will be drilling another well. As for the long term plan, "we are working hard with the help of the various ministries in producing an important development plan of the whole of the 18 Department", the Non-Executive Chairman of the United Kingdom-based, BowLeven oil and gas said. He further disclosed that, "We are at the very early stage but this could be a huge investment of more than a billion US dollars. We will be working with the government as we evaluate all the opportunities there". Concerning the gas discovered, Chief Tabetando said, "We have a programme to transform gas to electricity in Limbe".
