1º de Agosto Tuesday beat ASA by 80-73 for the first leg of the Angola Cup in senior males basketball.

Despite the defeat, ASA fought until the last minutes of the game.

Idelfonso Quiteculo and Edmundo Ventura, both of ASA, were the top scorers of the match with 20 points, whereas Carlos Almeida topped for 1º de Agosto.

With this result, 1º de Agosto only needs a win to capture the Angola Cup. Even if they lose, in the second round, by less than seven points they will still become champions.

The second leg match is to be played on April 26, at Cidadela pavilion.
