The Liberia Democracy Watch (LDW) today holds the 9th Edition of the "Dialogue for Democracy." It is a bi-monthly discussion series that brings together major actors in Liberia's democratic development and renewal process.

The "Dialogue for Democracy" discussion Series, hosted by LDW is envisioned to promote a democratic culture in Liberia through continuing dialogue involving various stakeholders.

Through this discussion series, stakeholders are provided the venue to deliberate on policy issues aimed at sustaining peace, human rights and democracy in Liberia, as well as fostering national reconstruction and recovery. The "Dialogue for Democracy" is being supported by the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), a Washington-based pro-democracy and human rights organization.

This 9th edition convened under the theme: "Combating Corruption in Liberia: A Policy Approach to Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Development" will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2008 at 10:00am in the conference room of the Ministry of Gender and Development, LDW has selected as a means of providing a venue for various stakeholders to scrutinize current efforts in the fight against corruption in Liberia and perhaps proffer suggestions aimed at enhancing the process.

The discussions will essentially examine the significance of an effective anti-corruption policy in the drive towards poverty reduction and sustainable development in Liberia.
