Angola: Uíge - Malaria Claims Lives in Negage District

Three people died of malaria in Negage district, northern Uíge province, from a total of 399 cases registered last March, at municipal hospital, ANGOP learnt this Wednesday from the head of the Programme of Fight Against the disease in the region, Nito Mateus.

From this number, 47 patients were hospitalised, including 23 pregnant women, while 352 receive treatment at mobile centre.

The source said that 1,200 cases were recorded in January and February 2008, but did not mention the number of deaths.
