Namibia: Police Wound Fleeing Suspect

Windhoek

POLICE at Okahao have reported that they were forced to fire at a suspect who fled when they tried to arrest him on Monday afternoon.

The 32-year-old man is wanted in various cases of robbery, housebreaking and theft.

He was wounded in the forehead, and was admitted to the Oshakati State Hospital where he is being kept under Police guard.

His condition is reported to be stable.

At the time of his shooting, two other suspects were arrested.

It is reported that the driver lost control of the Nissan bakkie and overturned it.

The driver was one of the four survivors.
