Liberia: Government Reschedules WAEC Exams

The Government of Liberia through the Ministry of Education has rescheduled this year WAEC exams.
According to the Deputy Minister for Administration at the Ministry of Education, Madam Hawah Goll-Kotchi, the decision is due to the two-week closure of schools for the conduct of the National Census, the administration of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exams has been rescheduled.
According to the Minister, the 12th graders will sit the exams from May 19-23, while the 9th grade examinations would be administered from May 26-27. She also stated that the 6th graders exams would be administered from May 28-29 at their respective centers.
Meanwhile, Minister Goll-Kotchi has advised all school authorities to take advantage of the extension in order to further prepare their students for the exams. She however assured the public that the new schedule will in no way delay the date for the release of the result.
The Administration of the examinations was previously scheduled for May 5, 2008.
