Angola: Cunene - Floods Victims Rehousing Estimated At Usd 55 Million

About USD 55,4 million is the total amount for the implementation of project of rehousing victims of the floods registered in Ondjiva city, south Cunene province.

ANGOP learnt of the information from the provincial governor, Pedro Mutinde who affirmed that the project dubbed "Oshimbala Urban Project" was ordered by the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, for the construction of 2,500 residences and implementation of other basic social services to house the affected families.

The project, to be carried out in Oshimbala district, 10 kilometres from Ondjiva, was already elaborated and shall be submitted to the Presidency of the Republic.

He affirmed that 2,500 houses will be built, from which 1,000 shall be of the T2 type and 1,500 of the T3 class to rehouse families accommodated at Naipalala and Caculuvale shelter centres.
