Luanda — Mozambique's minister of Co-ordination of Environmental Action, Alcinda Antonio Abreu, arrived on Wednesday evening in Luanda to participate in the fourth conference of ministers of environment of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP), ANGOP has learnt.
Speaking to ANGOP, Alcinda Abreu said she brings to the meeting Mozambique's experience with regard to dealing with environmental problems.
"Drought and floods are our daily living over the last years. We have recorded floods from January to March, but this year it started earlier, but we had the capacity of warning the population, which has reduced the loss of human lives", she said.
In her opinion, mechanisms such as "Green Schools", in which the students are taught to love nature and children plant a tree annually or exchange experience among lower zones and others dryer ones, has been working in Mozambique.
Speaking about the Luanda meeting, she said it may analyse the implementation of the Brasilia Platform signed two years ago, which shows the commitment of the CPLP member countries relating to the accords.
The third conference of environment ministers with the CPLP took place in May 2006 in Brasilia, Brazil.
