Angola and Iceland intend to boot friendship ties and plan areas for bilateral cooperation, announced Wednesday here the Angolan ambassador to that north European country, Domingios Culolo.
The diplomat was speaking at the end of an audience of presenting his credential letters to the President of Iceland, Olafur Ragnar Grimsson.
The Angolan official affirmed that the President of Iceland expressed the interest of his country's government to reinforce friendship and cooperation relations with Angola in the political and economic sectors, as a way of contributing to national reconstruction and fight against poverty.
In his opinion, these relations may be focussed in interchange amongst firms, at a time that the Angolan Government has been implementing a new private investment policy based on the current legislation.
The occasion also served for Domingos Culolo to brief the Icelandic Statesman on the businesses opportunities in Angola, implementation of economic and institutional reforms towards the consolidation of a democratic and lawful society, as well as national reconstruction in the eve of the legislative elections set for September 05 and 06.
This Thursday, his last day of visit to that European country, ambassador Culolo shall meet with the resident Angolan community to whom he will inform about the current situation in the country.
The ambassador is being accompanied by the first secretary of his embassy, Leitao dos Santos and other staff.
