Cape Verde's Agriculture and Environment minister, Maria Madalena Brito Neves, on Wednesday when visiting the Capanda Dam, in Malanje Province's Cacuso District, praised the level of development that Angola has achieved in the last six years of effective peace.

The official, who had also visited the Pungo Andongo Farm in the same region, said that peace has been contributing decisively for the development of the country..

"In these years of peace, Angola has showed that it is starting a new era of development, through the reconstruction of infrastructures", she said.

The Cape Verdean government official paid a work visit of a few hours to the north-central Malanje Province, to check some undertakings being built by the Angolan government, mainly in the agro-industrial field.

The visit of Maria Madalena Brito Neves, who is in the country since last Sunday, is part of the implementation of the Basic Agreement of Economic, Technical, scientific, Social and Cultural Cooperation, signed in 1978 by the governments of the two states.
