Angola: Portuguese Speaking Countries Urged to Consult On Environmental Polices

The member States of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP) should establish mechanisms for consultations and permanent agreement with a view to a common participation in the formulation of environmental policies and strategies.

This was recommended by Angolan minister of Urbanisation and Environment, Diekumpuna Sita José, while speaking at the opening of the Ministerial segment, under the fourth conference of the CPLP ministers of the sector that is taking place in Luanda.

According to the government official, only acting in favour of a common objective can results in the treatment of environmental issues be attained.

In his point of view, it is important to have a facilitated access to funds and technologies of rapid implementation that help to solve serious environmental problems faced specially by African countries.
