East Africa: Kigali Most Expensive in Region

Kigali — Commodity prices in Kigali are still high and have remained so since late last year compared to other Eastern Africa capital cities, the Regional Agricultural Trade Intelligence Network (RATIN) has said.

Since early January, wholesale maize prices have been above USD 250 per Metric Tone (Rwf. 137.500) while rice has been USD 750 per Metric Tone (Rwf. 412.500), says the report from a survey conducted also in Uganda, Tanzania and Kenya.
