The on going trial of the deputy permanent secretary of the Department of State for Forestry and Environment, Mr. Momodou O. Njie, did not proceed on Monday, 21 April, 2008, at the Bundung Magistrates' Court.

The prosecutor, ASP Bojang applied to withdraw the first count against the DPS, which is publication of false news .He also applied to amend count 2, stating that this is necessary because they feel that the evidence on their side is not available and sufficient as a result they want to withdraw count 1 and amend count 2. Senior Magistrate Kumba Sillah Camara granted the application sought by the prosecutor.

Defence Lawyer Lamin Camara did not object to the applications, but remarked that the prosecutor should speed up the process so that they can get out of the case.

The case is adjourned to the 6 of May for the prosecutor to open his case.
