Malanje — Senior staff of the Inter-Ministerial Commission for Electoral Process (CIPE) are examining, as from this Friday morning, among other issues, the mapping of voting brigades and the participation of political parties in the electoral registration updating process, which runs until May 31.
Happening in northern Malanje province until Saturday, the meeting is being attending by deputy provincial governors, national directors of the Ministry of Territory Administration (MAT) and representatives of the Provincial Executive Committees for the Electoral Process (CEPPE).
The adhesion of citizens to electoral registration posts, participation of partners of the government, with highlight to churches, civil society and NGOs in civic education campaigns will also be discussed during the two-day meeting, which is being addressed by deputy minister of Territory Administration, Edeltrudes Costa, who is being accompanied by the governor of Malanje, Cristóvão da Cunha.
At the opening ceremony, the deputy minister said that the meeting results from the need of assessing all tasks concerning the forthcoming elections in Angola, the electoral registration process in particular, which is in its updating phase.
He indicated that it will enable the adoption of measures to speed up this process which will culminate with the next parliamentary election, scheduled for September this year.
