The traditional ruler of Bandjoun in the West province, His Majesty Chief Honore Njomo Kamga, has lauded the prophetess of Douala and Yaounde Spiritual Hospitals, Marie Lumiere, for using her spiritual powers to help mankind.

The Chief made the remark while addressing a mammoth crowd on the occasion of Bureau Lumiere's maiden visit to the Bandjoun palace recently. It was Marie Lumiere's first public appearance in Banjoun after Chief Njomo Kamga crowned her with a traditional title last year.

Given that Marie Lumiere who hails from Banjoun cures the sick through prayers and meditation, Chief Njomo Kamga, said she is a God-sent messiah to his people. While emphasizing that Marie Lumiere was chosen by God, the Chief urged his subjects to recognise her as a prophetess. He said due respect should be given to her so that she can serve mankind in love, hope, unity and peace.

He thanked God for making the event the spectacular success that it was, remarking that Bandjoun is very lucky to have such a daughter. He appreciated Marie Lumiere for abandoning her enormous responsibilities to pay him a visit.

According to the Chief, Christians should show love and charity to the prophetess so that she can continue to work for them.In response, Marie Lumiere gave the peace plant, locally known as "Nkeng" to Chief, urging him to use it in driving out jealousy, division and hatred from his village.

Traditional dances, choral groups animated the occasion in a show of what many observers say was a marriage of Christianity and tradition. A hectic reception was later offered to guests at late Pere Soffo's residence in Bandjoun
