Luanda — Top officers of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) were sworn in this weekend to occupy new positions at the General-Staff, ANGOP learnt.
They are the brigadier Luís Fernando Afonso, appointed as FAA General Headquarters chief of operations and Simão Carlitos Wala as his deputy.
General Jackes Raúl is the new commander of the Second Military Region and Marques Correia Banza is the head of the Eastern Military Region.
In a statement to ANGOP, gen. Carlitos Wala manifested his satisfaction with the referred appointments, adding that it is part of the Angolan Armed Forces re-edification process.
General Carlitos Wala is one of FAA's most distinguished officers, for his contribution to the end of the war and achievement of peace in Angola.
