Over the past four years REMIT (Rotarians Eliminating Malaria in Tanzania) with the assistance of Rotaractors, have distributed nearly 200,000 bednets within Kilimanjaro, Arusha and Simanjiro Regions.

The majority of the beneficiaries are requested to contribute 1000/- per net. This covers distribution charges and the balance helps the community, mainly by purchasing items such as insect repellant trees and insecticides.

To mark World Malaria Day on April 26 REMIT was honored by a visit from Past District Governor Don Short, from Rotary International Britain and Ireland, who has been looking into the possibility of his club adopting a Village to fight malaria.
