A Flurry of rumours has followed Joseph Kony's failure to sign the peace agreement. The cultic Lord's Resistance Army (LRA) leader, who was expected to sign the deal on April 10, didn't turn up, to the disappointment of many.

"Why the sudden change of mind?" many asked, and the grapevine went overdrive providing possible answers. Some think his allies, backers and creators stopped him as he headed to Ri-Kwangba, the venue of the signing ceremony. It is said a call came through advising him against signing as he still has an assignment to complete. Whatever that means, the rumours that Kony is in Khartoum are gaining currency.

Another version has it that Kony failed to turn up because he had been wounded following infighting in the LRA. It is said he disagreed with some of his commanders who wanted the peace talks expedited.

In his rage, he ordered them shot for giving him orders. In the ensuing exchange, the LRA chief was reportedly shot in the back.

Some say he was flown to Khartoum and others think he is nursing wounds in Garamba National Park.
