The Angolan President José Eduardo dos Santos Monday here received nine members of the country's Association of Traditional Authorities (ASSAT), who showed satisfaction towards the government work for consolidation of peace and national unity.
Speaking to the journalists, the interlocutor of the group, Virgílio Mendes Jorge, said at the end of one-hour long meeting that they also manifested consideration for improvement in the area of National Reconstruction.
"It was a very satisfactory meeting", he added, in which was expressed the desire of the traditional authorities in continuing helping the government in all tasks linked to the betterment of the population living conditions.
Mr Jorge slammed the attitude of certain individualities, who instead of being traditional authorities, "try to transmit a false message against the national unity and the holding of next elections".
Those, he stressed, "are not traditional authorities, ( ) but political party's militants who promote these campaigns".
He said that the traditional leaders are included in ASSAT and "have been closely following up what the government has been doing, considered by us as positive".
The official advanced that for the recognition of the role carried out by the country's President, José Eduardo dos Santos, for the development of the country it was handed over to the Head of State, the Kiginga and Mbassau, symbols of the traditional power in Angola.

Created in 2003, ASSAT groups about 3,669 traditional authorities countrywide.
