THE Kenya National Commission on Human Rights wants the United Nations to conduct the June by-elections.

The commission's chairman, Mr Maina Kiai, said the Government should seek assistance from the United Nations Electoral Assistance Division (UNEAD) to oversee the by-elections.

"The fact that there is an inquiry into the conduct of the Electoral Commission of Kenya is enough to ask for international assistance," Kiai added.

The ECK, he said, had lost credibility and integrity to conduct other elections after they messed up last year's.
