Angola: CAF Team Inspects Can2010 Stadiums

Luanda — A member of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Executive Commission, Suketu Patel, Monday here said that the main objective of visiting Angola is to check the conditions that have been created for the holding of CAN2010, in the country.

Speaking to press at 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, Suketu Patel, who is also the chairperson of COSAFA, said that the inspection will focus mainly on issues linked to building of stadiums and the deadlines of their construction.

However, the executive director and deputy chairperson of Angolan Football Federation (FAF), António Mangueira, who was at the airport, said that the local officials will show to CAF every aspect regarding the organisation of the continental event.

According to Mr Mangueira, the issue of new stadiums is priority, due to their importance for the holding of the tournament, as the deadlines are getting closer. "We guarantee you that they (the stadiums) will be ready by October 2009´´, he added.
